Keith Carlock, one of the world’s leading drummers (Steely Dan, Sting, Wayne Krantz), has moved from his long-time endorsement homes of Yamaha Drums and Regal Tip Sticks to Gretsch Drums and Vic Firth Sticks respectively. Carlock’s move seems to have been overshadowed by Colaiuta’s recent change in endorsements (to Ludwig and Paiste), and hasn’t gotten as much coverage as it should have.
Carlock is playing the new Brooklyn series of Gretsch Drums and has a new Signature model stick from Vic Firth.
I really do think that Vic Firth sticks are some of the best out there. I use the dipped sticks because I grip them better. I might have to try out Carlock’s signature line.
