If you are having trouble squeezing in the proper amount of practice time, or wish you could play more frequently on real acoustic drums, you can cure that problem by scheduling a practice session with us. Lately, more and more of our students have been taking advantage of our “Supervised Practice” option. The rates for supervised practice are the same as they are for our private lessons. If you are highly motivated to practice, multi-hour practice lessons/sessions are available as well.
What does this mean? It means that you can take advantage of our knowledge by booking a practice session under the watchful eye of an experienced BANG! instructor.
We have very specific ideas about practice here at BANG! The Drum School. Some of the time you spend practicing might not really be helping you all.
You should spend the largest chunk of your practice time working on things that you CAN NOT do well. If you sit down behind the drums and just bang around for a while playing stuff you can already play well, then you may be getting better at the stuff you can already do well, but how much is that helping you lift your overall game as a drummer?
Our “supervised practice” sessions came about initially as a mistake….a student would show up at a lesson unprepared.
At BANG! The Drum School, it is not our style to give you attitude or try to make you feel bad because you didn’t practice. Instead, when students came unprepared, we would just have them work on something they needed improvement on. During these types of lessons we discovered that the notion of practicing with an instructor present had merit.
We have multiple students who make this a regular part of their drumming routine. We’ve had students who come to us 6 hours a week for this type of lesson. If you want to be a better drummer….try “forcing” your self to practice by booking these sessions with us.
