This latest lick is one I’ve been messing around with for a while.
It was inspired by Steve Gadd’s famed “ratamacue lick.” It’s got a similar vibe, but I find it much easier to play.

And here’s a video of me playing the idea. I’m not blazing it in the video–I want you to understand what it sounds like at a moderate tempo. Between the PDF and the video, I think you’ll be able to work out how to play it. And then I’m sure you’ll be able to play it much faster than I’m playing it in the video below…
